Crosses My Mind

On my mind, many things cross it to where it is hard to find,

Peace and comfort and the lack of love leaves me blind.

There is a moment in time when love enters, it can combine,

Trust and a sense of belonging drive me to believe that everything is fine.

I wake up and realize that my dream is just that which does not define,

Half of what my life can become and who I can share it leaves me with no headline,

That cannot even make from the front page is a sign of where I will be left behind.

I cannot seem to be grounded or confined, and I know that this is not the way God designed,

To live my life according to God's word in being more refined.

It is in my heart and by my actions that God's word is enshrined.
